EasyLink Services International Corporation Solves IT Staffing Issues and Increases Customers' Profits with Managed Services

Demand for EDI outsourcing solutions accelerates in today's challenging environment

NORCROSS, Ga., Oct 14, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- EasyLink Services International Corporation ("EasyLink" or "Company") (NasdaqCM: ESIC, www.EasyLink.com), a global provider of comprehensive messaging services and e-commerce solutions, today announced it has launched its state-of-the-art Managed Services due to increasing demand for outsourced Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) solutions.

Drivers of this EDI outsourcing trend include a severe shortage of EDI professionals, an increasingly complex supply chain, and the high costs of acquiring and maintaining EDI software and hardware. Furthermore, a number of recent studies by leading analyst firms have shed light on the significant impacts EDI problems have on a company's bottom line. For example, a delay in getting a new supplier added to the supply chain results in products not getting on shelves in a timely manner and, thus, missed sales. Such delays are not uncommon, especially as IT departments are being asked to do more with less and EDI coordinators often oversee numerous other applications in an organization in addition to EDI.

According to Kevin Maloney, Senior Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing, EasyLink Services, "Our customers require excellence in their EDI operations. They need fast customer on-boarding and quick updates to data maps whenever partners change the way they apply data standards or new standards take effect. We understand this and have the technology, people, and processes in place to make that happen all at a price point much lower than the cost of running an internal EDI operation."

Industry analyst Gartner, currently values the B2B Outsourcing Market at $650-$750 million with projected growth to approximately $1.4 billion by 2012 1.
