NORCROSS, Ga., Oct 07, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- EasyLink Services International Corporation ("EasyLink" or "Company") (NasdaqCM: ESIC, www.easylink.com), a global provider of comprehensive messaging services and e-commerce solutions, today announced it has been positioned in the "Visionaries Quadrant" of the Gartner Managed File Transfer Magic Quadrant report.1
Managed File Transfer (MFT) applications secure and provide audit trails for large file exchanges that would otherwise be sent via FTP, email, or postal mail. All three of these alternative methods introduce data security risks, do not provide necessary audit trails, and can be very time consuming for the IT department to manage and/or for the sender to transmit. According to the report, written by L. Frank Kenney, when choosing an MFT provider, "It's much more prudent to deploy a product that can be easily expanded and upgraded to handle multiple protocols and multiple standards in a governed way that is fully auditable."
One of many differentiators of the EasyLink MFT service is its Software as a Service structure. EasyLink is one of only a handful of providers that offer a fully hosted MFT solution. This SaaS model makes EasyLink MFT one of the least expensive and scalable solutions on the market.
Gartner estimates that the market for MFT suites and services is approximately $450 million and is growing at a rate of 21% to 26% year over year.
